Notable London Fashion Week spring/summer 2012 beauty trends were a 50s Hollywood glamour look, but tweaked for the millennium woman. House of Holland followed the sleeked-back hair trend while Temperley London exhibited that prominent old Hollywood red lip, which we also seen at shows in and Paris and Milan.

Get Sexy Sleek Hair

If you always wear your hair down then the look from the House of Holland is a quick and easy style update. To achieve a sleek down style with texture, pull the hair back in a ponytail using a tail comb instead of a round brush.

So Cheeky

Christopher Kane, Issa and Jaeger changed the glamour look by adding a certain young and fresh element to their shows with peachy cheeks and ponytails, but still kept that beautiful glowing skin we love.  Try Rimmel – Multi- tonal Blush in Spring flower (£5.19, rimmellondon.com). This product is inexpensive and works on most skin tones for a young fresh glow.

Singing the Blues

Let’s not forget: London is never London without a certain “street element” to it. It was definitely visible in some of the shows when they added splashes of blue to the eyes in shows like Pringle of Scotland, Michael van deer Ham and Louis Gray. It had a certain roughness to it, but still held true to the old Hollywood feel that was so prominent throughout all of the SS12 shows around the world.

There are a few easy steps to achieve a gorgeous blue eye:
STEP 1
Choose a blue colour palette that you would like to work with and start by priming your eyelid with a light nude base colour. We love Yves Saint Laurent Trésor d’Afrique 5 Colour Pallette for the Eyes (£37, boots.com).
STEP 2
Using a medium tone colour, start on the ball of the eye and blend into the crease of the eye. Use the same colour and also apply it just under your bottom lash line starting from the outer corner and working your way inward.
STEP 3
Use the darkest tone in your palette to add the intensity you want. Apply it from the outer corner of the eyelid and blend it inward. Intensify your look even more by adding more of the same colour into the crease of the eye and your bottom lash line.
STEP 4
Finish of your eye off by highlighting your brow bone with the lightest colour from your palette and blend. For extra effect, add just the tiniest bit of your highlighting color inside the corner of the eye. It will open up the eye nicely.
