DSquared2 takes the stage with beloved twin design duo, Dean and Dan Caten, in a rock-chic meets Glasto-style glamour. The inspiration comes from the UK’s famed Glastonbury Festival that showcases contemporary performing arts including rock, world, electronic, hip hop and even folk, as the Caten brothers take the theme to completely new heights. The show opens with a black leather jacket with bright yellow trims on the sleeves, layered over a chequered button-up blouse and a dazzling white camisole with prominent bold print of the American flag. The top is paired together with a pair of paint splattered shorts and brown calf-high stiletto boots over white knee-high socks. The distinguishing features of the look is how it is accessorized by a pair of bright neon green rimmed sunglasses, and well worn brown boots, while the model saunters down the runway beer bottle in hand. Nothing screams party more than an ice cold beer to wash away all life’s worries. But besides the beer bottle included with nearly every look, another stand out aspect of the show were the stiletto boots that uncannily match the runway itself a catwalk that quite resembles that of a countryside dirt road.

One thing that can always be expected of a Caten thematic show is that it will always pull all of the stops. The looks highlight a range of colours and varying styles, from long bright dresses, to short neutral toned chunky sweater minis tying in the vibe of diverse personalities united together by one event to bask in sheer joy and freedom and the love of contemporary art and music.

To even further emphasize this point, male models took to the runway in similar laid back attire. One model donned a rugged denim vest layered over a chequered button-up with rolled up sleeves and a salmon colored print t-shirt all paired together with black leather pants and black boots. The look was accentuated with various coloured rubber wristbands and the ever so characterizing beer bottle. Overall, DSquared2 gives a show that is fun, funky, and fresh in a way that lets everyone know it’s ok to go out and have some fun every once in awhile.
